About Golf Uraburu

Although it’s only 20 km (12 miles) as the crow flies from Bilbao, Golf Uraburu still takes a while to climb the winding road. Once you reach the top, you think, how can there be an 18-hole golf course here? And if they did build one, you’d probably be exhausted after just the second hole. The clubhouse looks like a commercial building from the outside. The inside looks the same, too; there’s not much inside. Once inside, you enter a large, open space. The back wall of the clubhouse is a huge glass wall, and the golf course opens up before you. One floor below, which you look out onto, is the clubhouse living area. It reminded me of the lobby of the Overlook Hotel (the Shining), albeit with a bit more atmosphere.
