Golf El Prat
There’s a lot to say about Golf El Prat. It’s a half-hour drive from Barcelona, which is great if you’re flying in, and Barcelona is a fantastic city. Golf El Prat feels like you’re surrounded by nature, at least visually. There are no housing developments around it. There are 45 holes, which is a lot. Two 18-hole courses with different characters, and a nine-hole course that’s less exclusive.

Golf de Pals Serres
It sounds strange, but it’s true. Golf de Pals owes its origins to Cuba. Until 1959, Cuba was a paradise for the hedonistic rich, with excess in everything. There were 15 golf courses on the island. PGA tournaments were played at the posh Havana Country Club, where players and guests indulged in the jet set lifestyle. Cigars were steeped in rum, wild parties, casinos—it never ended, while a large part of the population lived in poverty. When Castro came to power in 1959, he closed all but two of his golf courses. In his view, golf was a symbol of capitalist excesses and a sport of the elite.
