About Golf la Sella
Between Valencia and Alicante, both an hour’s drive away, lies the town of Denia. This is where what we know as the Costa Blanca begins. The name, once coined by a British airline, is known for its long sandy beaches. Benidorm and Alicante are two large destinations where hordes of retirees from all over Europe spend the winter thanks to the pleasant climate. A ten-minute drive from Denia, you’ll find Golf la Sella. Nestled between the Montgó National Park and the Mediterranean Sea, the course offers spectacular views. A 27-hole complex with three loops of nine, it was designed by Jose Maria Olazabal, who designed several others in Spain. The loops are named after winds: L’Lebieg, the Sahara wind; Gregal, the wind that carried sailors to Greece; and Mestral, the mountain wind. I asked a pro what kind of golf course we have here. He considered it a typical resort course. The entry level is low, accessible to all types of players. You can find your ball almost anywhere. A course should also please, and not just scratch players.
