Valencia is the regional capital and Spain’s third-largest city. It would be a shame not to include it in your golf trip. If you’re traveling with a campervan, the best place to park is south of the city, towards Saler, about 10 kilometers outside the city. Campsites and campervan parks around. You’ll also be close to Golf El Saler, the masterpiece of Spanish golf architect Javier Arana, and right in the heart of the Albufera nature reserve. Explore the area by bike or rent one locally, as there are cycle paths everywhere. A 30-minute bike ride will take you to the impressive Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias in Valencia, or City of Arts and Sciences. The complex was designed by Spanish golf architect Santiago Calatrava (Valencia 1951). The Valencian city council had seen what the Guggenheim Museum had done for Bilbao, and they wanted to do the same.
